David Hockney born in Brandford, England, 1937 known for photo collages and paintings of LA pools. He studied at an art school in London then shortly after moved to LA in the 1964. When he first began creating any collages he first called them "joiners" David Hockney was voted Most Influential British artist artist in the 20th century. He was first recognized after his emu-abstract paintings on the theme homosexual love before it was decriminalized in England in 1967. The first cameras he began using at the time were polaroids and snapshot prints. David's work varies from acrylic canvases, destruction of proportion, linear, perspective, and color theory. His artwork emulates his style because he believes in being different and seeing things with different perspectives not just in a certain way.
While doing this project I started off by taking photos of things that I thought would look pretty cool if certain parts of the pictures were a little different or just bolt look so perfect. In photoshop I began with dragging out the photo from iPhoto into photoshop then would change the image size by holding down the shift button for the quality of the original photo wouldn't change. The first photo I used was like the background in some for starts. I then began changing up the image size to smaller and some bigger and some under and some over. I kinda just began playing around with the new placements of the photos to give it a little disoriented look.

I choose to do a TIME magazine because I see it as a calm but serious kind of magazine. I like the type of intensity that it gives, most times the photograph is in black and white with some contrast. What I did to emulate the magazine cover style while taking the photo I made sure to take a somewhat serious photo and made sure the background was dark then had the flash in a certain angle and added contrast. The font style I used was a almost regular with a slight bold. The color I used for the font was in 4 different colors to make it stand out and catch your attention. The title I choose for my piece is “Yum, Cheesecake!” I believe this title name suits my image because this cheesecake looks god therefore makes you say like “Yum!” I would this it looks very appetizing. This image was taken inside a white box in day light. I learned that while doing food photography the outcome is better when using a white box because of the light and color that it gives the object making it stand out more; giving it an exact focus with no distracting background. Rule of thirds and leading line were the compositional rules involved with my photograph. The camera I used to take this photograph was a Nikon D5300 with a 18-140mm lens. To create my image I used Adobe Photoshop and iPhoto using certain tools on each to make my image look better without adding to much. When using Adobe Photoshop I made sure that the main focus was on the cake with no dust in the air, if anything was out of place I used the heal tool to clear anything that shouldn’t be there. I Also changed the saturation very little to make it a little warmer tone. When using iPhoto I enhanced the photograph and changed the color a little warmer as well. My image is in the Food Photography division because it is a dessert. My final image was printed on Epson Glossy Paper on the Epson P800 digital Printer.
"As if new life has come to them againlike from scratch they are programmed to do, after receiving power from summer rain but like humans sometimes they do fie too. caring more bountiful each summer day to the custom of their kind and their breed till summer suddenly dwindles away, again they are stripped as if in need."
To me tessellations are multiple copies of photograph making a different, pretty photo of not just the original. The way that I created a tesellation was by opening up the Photoshop CS6 then creating a new document and put on a title, Then used the ruler tool and marked the inches onto the background. After that I opened up my photos and chose a photo that I thought would work good for the tessellations. Then I clicked onto the photo itself and cropped out a certain part of my image that I wanted to use and changes the image size and made sure the crop was 1x1 square. I then dragged out the photo that I had cropped out and placed it into the squares on photoshop. After that I placed it well into the square and duplicated the layer and placed it beside the original and did that over and over till all squares were filled. I liked that the results actually looked more cool than the original photos. My favorite image was my fourth tessellation. I struggled at first when my template was not the right size, it would come out bigger then what it was suppose to be. Overall it was a cool and fun project to do and If I would do anything differently I would chose better images to use for my tessellation.
I learned portraiture from going to the duck pond that natural lighting is the best lighting but using a reflector makes the model look better giving it a glow, warm or cold look. Natural Background also give it a nice outcome. The poses i decided one were from the handout we were given, those poses worked well because of the different objects we were able to put together. While using the reflectors it made a difference in the model giving them more of a bright color making them glow. Depending in what kind of lighting they were in it would be a different color of reflector, I mainly used the gold reflector to give a more warm vibrant color. When retouching my photographs I outlined the face of my model and used the blur tool to blur out the skin a little but not extremely to much. I then used the healing tool to take away any extra scant or acne. The outcome was well after adding some noise which is like the pixels. This retouching process works good when the people being photographed want to have a clear, soft skin.
